Let's Have Cake!!

Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,

Happy Birthday to Shaku,
Happy Birthday to ME!

Yeah, yeah, I know what your thinking....syok sendiri right? But a girl is allowed a little self-indulgence once in awhile, or so I think at least. So, what have been the latest highlights, so very exciting as to induce this sudden spasm of blogging??? I wonder, I wonder...

Incidentally, there seem to be quite a number of birthdays this month (*edit* I just realised it's December already so I mean last month) - Roe's, Syai's, Shaleni's, May Lee's, Kails' (my birthday buddy) and yours truly's!
That's quite a number of cakes. Speaking of cakes, I tried counting the number of cakes I've had in the past week (and calories) and they amount to quite a few... . Shall I count the cakes? (ring any bells?)

Saturday, November 25th
Kaylee's birthday party at Flam's. Yummy oven-baked pizzas, even yummier vanilla vodka, and the cutest cake with a little, round, pot-bellied man. Heehee! And, Kails having just turned legal had tequila poured straight down her throat. You're Legal now Kaylee!! (not that it stopped you before).
Conversation was..interesting, to put mildly. If I remember correctly, there was talk of gay animals and drinking contests, among others.(Reminder : when dancing with Karim, make sure to maintain a 3-foot distance at all times).Hot guy sightings. And I learned a little about Kaylee that I'd rather not know, ie. she used send her friends whirling across a room, or stuff them in lockers. I'm glad those days have passed and we have the cute, teddybear-like, huggly Kails now.

Wednesday, November 29th
The day the sun dawned on the Earth, and all mankind rejoiced at her light and warmth. (It's my blog, you can only read it. Muahaha!) Oooh! My darling cast got me a cake, well brownie, it's all the same. Aren't they darling?? Yup, a brownie and a coffee (apparently I'm developing a reputation for being a coffee addict). So sweet! And, this really cute card that said, "We luv your direction". Hahahaha!! Suffice to say, I didn't have the heart to scold them on their acting that day...
And then I went home and cut yet another cake. An enormous, sinfully chocolatey cake that made me swoon at the first bite, then gag at the third. Good things must only be taken in small doses.

Friday, December 1st
This was one freaking crazy day! First up, our date with the furniture sponsor who I now christen Mr. Syed Moods. Then we lunched with Ms. C (ooh, that sounds so grownup). You know, I get the feeling we haven't been exercising very much discretion when we talk around her. Next, dessert with Mr. Jahn. Guess what we had? You guessed it...more cake! I will never forget Mr. Jahn's story if I live to be a hundred. I honestly didn't know whether to laugh or glare at his shallowness, so I think I ended up doing both alternately. Probably looked rather odd.
Then Kenneth bounded into rehearsals with yet another birthday cake for me. I wonder, do I look starved to you people? But really, I am touched, it was so sweet of him and Susan.
Then Ms. C and Ms. Tan (the one sans Fendi spy) decided that I had to go for this interview thingy to glorify high-achievers just so we averagely-achieving "hardworkers" feel badly about ourselves. And that knowing full-well that I would then only have half an hour to get ready for my own birthday dinner (btw, I actually took only 20 minutes to get ready. That's a new record for me. I dare not mention it to my parents lest they both collapse of heart attacks). Suffice to say I ended up being late as usual and once again poor Kaylee had to wait for all of us. (I'm reeeaally sorry for that Kails). Which brings me to my dinner at Saffron. The highlight of the evening was watching Wenzz and Mids down escargot. Haha, I forced them to try it! At least Mids liked it. And I'm soo proud of you Wenz for not spitting it out. So, you finally tried snails...it wasn't all that bad now, was it?

Of course, what's a birthday without a little booze? So we all adjourned to Telawi for drinks at TSB. I've always wanted to say, "I'll have a Blow Job, please" or "Can I have an Orgasm?". But, I didn't. Instead, I had the yummiest drink - vodka, ribena and 100plus. I mean to have an Orgasm next time though. It's as good as everyone says it is - Bailey's and coffee - mind-blowing! Oh, I forgot to mention, Kaylee brought a cake to the party - chockful of rum! Yum yum. Only problem was, everyone was so stuffed from dinner they had hardly any room for it so the poor cake had to be tapau-ed and typically downed by my brother before anyone could say "Bob's your uncle".

Saturday, December 2nd
Rehearsals AGAIN! Unfortunately, I missed the highlight of the day...you all know what it was. Temper tanrums aside, I have finally caught a glimpse of the full potential of my cast and will now settle for nothing less from them. In the evening, I went for yet another friend's birthday party. This time an old school friend. The stupidest thing about it is that she lives a mere two rows away from me and yet we haven't seen each other in a year. That is FRICKING ridiculous, okay! I suppose it's mostly because she's away at college in some God-forsaken ulu place in Sepang, poor girl. Anyway, I was finally able to catch up with my old friends. OMG, they are crazy! I never laugh so much as I do when I'm with them. I remember we used to go into hysterics in the school canteen and the whole school would go quiet and stare at us as if we were off our rocker.

Monday, December 4th
*cue guilty laugh* I made Roe feel so bad about missing my birthday that she actually baked me a cake. Can you believe it? That's one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me! And a yummy lemon and orange cake too. Thank you thank you thank you! Now I feel guilty for making her feel bad...oh well, at least the cake was good.

So that makes a grand total of....8 cakes! In 1 fricking week!

Unless you want to add my grandmother's birthday on Tuesday which would bring the grand total to 9. But the cake wasn't really the reason I brought up my gran's birthday. It was the complete ignorance and utter cluelessness of my entire family with regards to today's fashions. I bought and wore an ever so pretty satin top which I was so proud of....and everyone, I mean everyone, scoffed and said it looked like nightwear or lingerie! I mean Hello! have you never stopped to look at what's on the mannequins and in the stores these days, never mind the magazines!!! Hmmph!! So upsetting!

Plebs!! One of the inexplicable and quaint peculiarities of the vulgar empiricism of the plebs.

Groan! I almost, almost made it through the entire post without mentioning the play. (*edit* I noticed I've already mentioned it earlier, so that didn't work, did it? *sigh*)

~Integration alone is not enough. Disintegration is essential too. That's what life is. And philosophy. That's science, progress, civilisation!~

A fitting end to a non-existent play-free post, don't you think?
